Fjords of Norway including Bergen, Flam & Oslo

Travel to Norway and arrive in Bergen, the starting point for your fjords adventure. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel.

The rest of the day is at leisure, giving you time to relax and explore your surroundings.

Start our morning with a half-day walking tour of Bergen, a charming city known for its colourful houses, cobbled streets and scenic setting between mountains and sea.

Join our guide for: 

• A walk along the famous UNESCO-listed Bryggen Wharf 
• One of Bergen’s must-see experiences, Fløibanen Funicular 
• Panoramic views at the top of Mount Fløyen

This afternoon is free for shopping or sightseeing at your own pace.

Following a leisurely breakfast, we will embark on a half-day cruise of the Mostraumen Fjord, lasting approximately 4 hours which includes: 

• Travel along the 27kn-long Osterfjord 
• Take in the dramatic Norwegian fjord scenery
• Sail close to a waterfall There may be an opportunity to sample ice cold mountain water 
• Return to Bergen

The boats are modern and comfortable, with sundecks and kiosks offering refreshments for purchase, including beer and wine.

Upon your return to Bergen, enjoy more free time to explore the city at your own pace. 

This relaxed afternoon is a lovely part of Bergen and the fjords holidays, giving you time to experience the city between scenic excursions.

This morning, we leave bustling Bergen behind and travel by coach to Lofthus.

• Enjoy the scenic and tranquil Hardanger region
• Stop at Steindalsfossen waterfall to stretch your legs and admire the cascading waters
• Continue across the famous Hardinger Bridge
• Arrive at your hotel in Lofthus

Total distance is approximately 160km.

This evening, enjoy your included evening meal.

This morning, take another scenic coach journey as we travel from Lofthus to Gudvangen, taking in the natural beauty of western Norway along the way. 

Total distance is approximately 150km.  

This afternoon, experience an unforgettable 2-hour fjord cruise along Naeroyfjord.

• This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the great highlights of a Norway fjords holiday
• Our cruise finishes in the beautiful village of Flam
• After arriving in Flam, we’ll take a short drive to Stegastein Viewpoint
• Revel in the stunning views of the fjord from 650m above sea level

We will then check into the hotel in Flam or Myrkdalen, depending on your departure date, where we will enjoy dinner together.   
 

This morning, check out of your hotel and leave your luggage to be transferred separately to your hotel in Oslo. We’ll then board the famous Flam Railway for a scenic journey to Myrdal.

• Travel for an hour from sea level at Sognefjord to Myrdal Mountain station
• Reach 867m above sea level and stop at the beautiful Kjosfossen waterfall
• Arrive in Myrdal and board another train to Oslo for approx. 5.5 hours
• Enjoy views of mountains, lush valleys and flowing rivers along the way

This evening, enjoy your included meal at your hotel in Oslo, where you will stay for 2 nights.
 

After breakfast, we take a guided walking tour of Oslo, known as the Tiger City. 

Our tour offers an overview of the city’s most important historic and cultural landmarks, including: 

• Akershus Fortress 
• Karl Johan Street 
• Parliament of Norway 
• Royal Palace

This afternoon is free for you to explore Oslo at your own pace. You may wish to: 

• Visit some of the museums
• Go last-minute shopping
• Simply relax 

Our guide will be able to suggest activities to suit your interests.

This final city stay completes a memorable Oslo and Bergen holiday, combining guided sightseeing with the unforgettable scenery of the Norwegian fjords.  

Today, you will say farewell to Norway as you transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight back home.
