Travel to Spain
Upon arriving in Madrid, you will be met by our local representative in the airport and you will be transferred to your hotel.
Madrid City Tour
Start your day with a guided walking tour of Madrid, where you will see the Puerta del Sol with its famous clock, the impressive Plaza Mayor, the town hall and La Almudena cathedral. The tour ends on Plaza del Oriente, which was created during Napoleon’s occupation of Spain, 200 years ago. Here you may choose to visit Palacio Real, one of the most beautiful royal palaces in Europe.
The afternoon is free to explore Madrid at your own pace. Among the city’s highlights are its 9th century city walls, the ‘Four Towers’ business district, and the ‘Golden Triangle of Art’, which is home to three of the city’s most important art museums.
Excursion to Toledo
Today, head out on a full day excursion to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Toledo. The city is beautifully situated on the banks of Spain’s longest river, the Tagus. Take a walking tour of the historic centre of the city and visit the 13th century Gothic cathedral, one of the biggest in the world. You will have some free time to explore the town at your leisure. Highlights include the fascinating Jewish quarter with its synagogue, and the Church of Santa María la Blanca. Toledo’s most famous resident is the artist El Greco, and you can visit his former home, La Casa del Greco, or seek out some of his artworks, such as his masterpiece “The Funeral of Count Orgaz”, which is housed at the church of Santo Tomé.
Spend the day exploring Madrid at your own pace. We recommend you try one of the hundreds of great tapas restaurants dotted around Madrid or relax in one of the many plazas for which the city is famous. Plaza Mayor is the most famous of these and has been the centre of Madrid life for centuries.
Excursion to Segovia
Today you will embark on a full day excursion to Segovia, home to several Romanesque churches and picturesque squares. Segovia’s most iconic landmark is its almost 30 metre high aqueduct which dominates the area. Spend time exploring the old town, with its winding streets, old buildings and fascinating Jewish Quarter.
The final stop on your tour will be the Alcázar, or castle, with its massive walls, towers and turrets. The castle was frequently used as a residence by the Spanish Court. Enjoy some free time to explore the Alcázar and the town at your own pace before beginning the journey back to Madrid.
Enjoy your final day at leisure in Madrid. This is the perfect opportunity to do some last minute shopping, or to relax in one of Madrid’s many squares, where you can have a drink and admire the city some more.
In the evening, you will be transferred to the airport with guide assistance for your flight home.
