Holiday highlights

Bantry House & Gardens

The gardens, as we see them today, have gone from creation (by Richard White, 2nd Earl of Bantry), through neglect (from 1930’s-1970’s) to restoration (which began in 1997). Laid out in an Italian style over seven terraces, with the house situated on the third terrace, this estate is unique since it is still lived in and manged by the family.

Blarney Castle Gardens

Encompassing over 60 acres of sprawling parklands Blarney Castle Gardens consists of a range of themed gardens built into the estate. There is something to see all year round in what is a constantly changing and evolving environment. During summer the herbaceous borders and rose beds provide a splendid display of colour and structure.

Kinalea Gardens

Kinalea Gardens are home to a collection of rare trees and shrubs including a woodland garden. In the front garden there is a rockery of ferns, heathers and grasses. In the centre of the rear lawn there is a curved scree Alpine Rockery. This echoes the shape of the highlight of the garden, which is the colourful perennial border with a cottage garden feel. The nearby sunken zen patio offers a collection of tropical plants & trees.
