Early afternoon, depart for Cothay Manor Gardens where twelve acres of gardens surround the medieval manor. Many garden rooms, each a garden in itself, are set off a 200-metre yew walk. Fine trees, cottage garden, courtyards, and a river walk all help to make this a plantsperson garden.
The Garden House
Check out of hotel and visit the wonderful Garden House, a two acre private garden from the 1940s, expanded to an exceptional six acre garden by Keith Wiley and although now managed by the Fortescue Trust. This garden retains the atmosphere of a private and personal garden with a wonderful selection of plants in beautifully designed spaces.
Coleton Fishacre Garden and Return Home
A student of Edwin Lutyens designed the house at Coleton Fishacre for Rupert and Lady D’Oyley Carte in 1926. Formal walls and terraces surround the house, woodland walks lead to the cliff top and sea and there are wonderful herbaceous borders in the walled garden. After your visit, you will transfer to the airport for your evening flight home.
