During our Palma city tour, the capital of the Balearic Islands, you will venture inside the gothic Palma Cathedral, stroll along the promenade of Paseo Maritimo and visit Bellver Castle, which offers a stunning panoramic view of the city and the bay.

Enjoy a trip to Pollensa, a charming inland medieval town and famous for the Calvario steps. See the village of Valldemossa and the old town of Soller, where you will board a nostalgic 1912 train across the centre of the island. Climate

Majorca enjoys a Mediterranean climate. It is generally pleasant, warm and sunny in spring and autumn and hot and dry in summer.

Food & Drink

Majorcan cuisine is based primarily on pork and fish dishes, cooked with garlic and olive oil. Roast suckling pig is a favourite for special occasions, as is sea bass baked in salt. To accompany them, try ‘tumbet’, which is made with peppers, aubergines and potatoes. Paella, including a local version called ‘brat’ (dirty rice) is enjoyed everywhere, as are varied tapas. The island produces some very good wines, notably those from the Binissalem area.

Palma

Capital of the Balearic Islands and a major international port, Palma is a great spot for picking up bargains, as well as authentic Majorcan souvenirs. The magnificent Gothic Cathedral, built on the site of a pre-existing Arab mosque, is the city’s pride and joy.

Majorcan Food

Famous main dishes include Tumbet - a splendid vegetable dish, Fideua - the local paella made with noodles rather than rice, sophisticated salt cod dishes, fresh fish dishes, pork loin in a Majorcan sauce, pork wrapped in cabbage, suckling pig, numerous lamb dishes, cauliflower with raisins and pine nuts, pumpkin fritters and local mushroom dishes.

Valldemossa/Soller

Valldemossa is one of the most beautiful villages in Mallorca. Located in the hills of the Tramuntana range, surrounded by forested hills and lush countryside makes Valldemossa a wonderful day out and is an extraordinary cultural visit. Soller is a hotspot with day trippers who arrive on the vintage train from Palma and where they can soak up the atmosphere and the sun. With several tapas bars, a fine selection of artisan food shops, local ice-cream and freshly squeezed orange juice, there is little temptation to move on.

Pollensa

Tucked between two hills, the town is filled with characterful lanes that wind around little squares perfect for wandering around. The main square, Placa Major is home to the 18th century Nostra Senyora Del Angels church with it's rather fabulous rose window.

Day 1 – Travel to Majorca

Upon arrival in Majorca you will be met at the airport by our local representative and transferred to your hotel in Alcudia. 

Day 2 – Welcome Briefing

This morning you will meet your local representative who will take you through your itinerary, explain the hotel facilities and answer any questions you have about the local area.

You will have the remainder of the day at leisure to relax and explore the surroundings of your hotel.

Day 3 – Valldemossa and Soller

Valldemossa

This morning embark on a guided excursion to the village of Valldemossa, one of the prettiest villages in Majorca. Located in an idyllic valley in the midst of the Tramuntana Mountains, it is known for its monastery where the world famous composer Fredric Chopin took his holidays. Wander the streets of this beautiful village and make sure to enjoy one of the famous Valldemossa ‘Coco de Patata’ pastries in your free time.

Afternoon

Soller

In the afternoon head to the town of Soller, travelling down to the port on the 1913 tram and experience the true flavour of the Mediterranean lifestyle while sipping on a coffee or a juice under the umbrellas in its main square. Then board the nostalgic 1912 train which will take you on a ride across the centre of the island, an experience in itself. Wind through spectacular scenery filled with viaducts, bridges, and tunnels and enjoy the beautiful sights of this Balearic Island.

Day 4 - At Leisure

Spend today relaxing or sightseeing at your own pace. Your guide will be happy to suggest activities based on your interests.

Day 5 – Pollensa City Tour

Pollensa City Tour

Today you will have a guided excursion a trip to Pollensa, a charming inland medieval town, home to the famous Calvario steps. This ancient stone staircase leads from the central square up to a tiny church, where you can experience beautiful views of the Majorcan countryside. Also in Pollensa is the Roman Bridge, a remnant of Majorca’s Roman history. Afterwards, visit the Port of Pollensa and enjoy some free time exploring the local markets before returning to your hotel.

The afternoon will be free to spend at your leisure. Your guide will be delighted to suggest some activities to suit your interests.

Day 6 – Palma City Tour and Majorcan Dinner

Palma City Tour and Majorcan Dinner

Today journey to the capital of Majorca, Palma. Firstly, enjoy a guided tour of the city including a stop at Bellver Castle for a wonderful panoramic view of the city and the bay. You will then continue past the area of Marivent where the Spanish Royal Family have their summer residence and along the Paseo Maritimo, the main promenade where some of the largest yachts in the world are moored. Enjoy a guided tour of Palma Cathedral (entrance included) and then afterwards, have some free time to explore the old part of the city on your own and discover the delights Palma has to offer. Return to your hotel but on the way, stop off at a little village half way between Palma and Alcudia in the heart of the wine producing area of Majorca. Here in a typical restaurant, they will have prepared an authentic Majorcan dinner. Taste the local dishes of the island, accompanied by local wines and enjoy a true Majorcan experience.

Day 7 – At Leisure

You will have today free to spend at your leisure. Take a stroll on the beach, enjoy a cool drink and a few tapas, and perhaps do some souvenir shopping.

Day 8 – Return Home

It’s time to bid farewell to Majorca. You will be transferred to Palma airport with guide assistance for your flight home.
