Holiday highlights

Ba Dinh Square
Ba Dinh Square is in the centre of Hanoi. In the past, it was the meeting point for events of great importance. There is a monument to the patriot combatants who sacrificed their lives for the independence of the Homeland.
The One Pillar Pagoda
Is a famous thousand-year old Buddhist temple and is one of the most iconic temples in Vietnam. In the mausoleum, they keep the remains of President Ho Chi Minh, and everyday many visitors come to this area to honour him.
Ha Long Bay
literally means descending dragon. Thousands of limestone mountains dot the seascape, and some of these islands have small alcoves with sandy beaches where it is possible to swim. The waters are calm and the water is clear during the spring and early summer.
Marble Mountains
This mountain range consists of five peaks and is a popular tourist site, and is often called the Mountains of Five Elements. The five peaks are called Thuy Son (water), Moc Son (metal), Tho Son (soil) and Hoa Son (fire).
Củ Chi Tunnels
These were the tunnels which the Viet Cong used during the Vietnam War. The tunnels are more than 250 km long and three levels deep. They were an unparalleled engineering marvel, and today the remaining tunnels have been restored to allow tourist to get a unique experience as to what underground life was like.
The Presidential Palace, Hanoi
Construction of this palace began in 1900 and was completed in 1906. It was built for the French Governing General when Vietnam achieved independence in 1954. Ho Chi Minh refused to live in the palace but did still use it when important guests came to visit. There is a traditional Vietnamese stilt house built on the grounds of the palace.
Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica
This marvellous neo-Romanesque style building was established by French colonists in the 19th century. It is situated in the very heart of Ho Chi Minh City at the Paris Square. All materials necessary for the construction of the basilica were imported from France.
