Kuala Lumpur

Malaysia’s capital, Kuala Lumpur is a thriving and multicultural city where highlights including everything from the soaring twin Petronas Towers to street food stalls, giant shopping centres to temples and gardens, museums and even the nearby Batu Caves. If ever there was a city for everyone, this is it.

Malacca

The Malaysian state of Malacca is nicknamed “The Historic State” and Malacca city is no different. Located on the coastline and centred around the River Malacca, the city’s historical centre was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2018. There you’ll find St Paul's Hill with the ruins of the Portuguese fortress, the Dutch Square on the right bank of the river, and the old Chinatown on the left. A great place to spend a relaxed day out, Malacca is full of pretty streets and squares, as well as boutiques and antique shops in which to pass the time.

Cameron Highlands

The Cameron Highlands is Malaysia’s most extensive hill station. As well as its beautiful tea plantations, the area is also home to rchards, nurseries, farmlands, waterfalls, rivers and lakes, and has been long been a popular destination for tourists. Sitting at 5000ft above sea level, it also offers cooler, fresher weather to the rest of Malaysia.

Langkawi

Langkawi is the largest island in an archipelago of 104 islands of the same name located in the Andaman Sea, some 30km off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia. Surrounded by aquamarine sea, the centre of the island is home to paddy fields, hillsides and jungle, while its coasts offer white sand beaches and shady palm trees - the perfect place to relax and enjoy your tropical surroundings.

Day 1- Travel to Malaysia

Day 2 - Arrive in Kuala Lumpur

Upon arrival in Kuala Lumpur, you’ll be met at the airport by our local representative who will accompany you to your hotel where you will be based for the next three nights. Later that evening, join your fellow travellers for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 3 – Kuala Lumpur Full Day Tour

Full day Begin your sightseeing programme with a full day guided excursion of Kuala Lumpur. See the city’s most fascinating sites, including Petronas Twin Tower, the King’s Palace, the National Mosque and the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. After lunch in a local restaurant, your tour will continue to the outskirts and Batu caves. You will drive along the ‘Ambassador Row’ with a stop at Istana Sharif Ali included.

Day 4 - Malacca Full Day Excursion

Malacca Full Day Excursion

Today, depart Kuala Lumpur and travel to Malacca. You will visit St. Peter’s Church, the oldest Christian Church still in use in Malaysia and then drive through the Portuguese Settlement. Proceed to view the famous gateway, ‘Port De Santiago’ and the ruins of St. Paul’s Church lined by 17th century Dutch tombstones. Next on the list is “Red Square” – the salmon pink Dutch administrative buildings which today house the Malacca Museum and government offices. After lunch there will be some time to explore Malacca at your own pace. We recommend taking a stroll along Malacca’s Jonker Street, which ends by the banks of the Malacca River.

Day 5 – Transfer to Cameron Highlands

Transfer to Cameron Highlands

After breakfast, travel north to the Cameron Highlands, 5000ft above sea level. Along the way, stop at Iskandar waterfalls and continue to The Lakehouse Hotel to sample a tea snack before proceeding to your hotel, where you will spend the next two nights.

Day 6 – Half Day Tour of Cameron Highlands

Half Day Tour of Cameron Highlands

After breakfast at your hotel, depart for a half day tour of the Cameron Highlands. This tour includes a visit to Sungei Palas 'Boh' Tea Factory where you can enjoy a guided tour. You will then continue to a butterfly farm and a local market before returning to your hotel.

You will have the rest of the afternoon at leisure to relax and use the facilities at your hotel.

Day 7 – Transfer to Penang

Transfer to Penang

After breakfast, depart from your hotel and begin the journey to Penang, where you will spend the next three nights. Enjoy a scenic drive with stops at Ipoh to view its famous Railway Station. Continue to Kuala Kangsar, for a visit to the Ubudiah Mosque and Istana Iskandariah, the Palace of the Sultan of Perak.

Day 8 – George Town Half Day City Tour

Today, embark on a half day tour of George Town a UNESCO world heritage site. The day will start with a visit to Pinang Peranakan Mansion. The tour continues through Little India, where you will be fascinated by the large choices of colourful and delicate sarees and the vibrant fragrance of the many types of Indian spices. Then continue with visits to Hindu and Teochew Temples and view Penang’s famous Street Art, before ending with Penang’s Traditional Clan Houses.

You will have the remainder of the day to experience George Town at your own pace.

Day 9 – Half Day Cookery Class and Farewell Dinner

Half Day Cookery Class

Today you will take part in a cookery class at Tropical Spice Garden Cooking School. First, take a guided tour of the Spice Terraces followed by a comfort stop where you can relax over a steaming cup of herbal tea. Once you are ready, you will learn to prepare some of the local favourites such as Nasi Lemak, Assam Laksa and Chicken Tandoori. After the class you will have the chance to relish your culinary creations.

The rest of the afternoon will be at leisure to relax at your hotel.

Evening

Farewell Dinner

You will be picked up at your hotel for an evening rickshaw ride through town. Travel through the oldest parts of George Town and Little India on your way to a local restaurant, where you can enjoy a farewell dinner from the Malaysian Peninsula.

Day 10 – Transfer to Langkawi

Transfer to Langkawi

After breakfast, transfer to Penang Airport for your morning flight to Langkawi. On arrival in Langkawi, you will be met by your local guide and transferred to your hotel, where you will spend the next two nights.

This afternoon, relax and enjoy the facilities at your hotel.

Day 11 – Half Day Island Tour

Half Day Island Tour

After breakfast, depart on a half day tour of the island of Langkawi. Start the day with a visit to a local cottage industry where you can witness the process of traditional batik painting, before going on a cable car ride to get a fantastic view of the island. The tour ends with a visit to the Rice Garden, where you can learn about the history of rice cultivation on the island.

You’ll have the rest of the day at leisure, to explore your surroundings in your own time.

Day 12 – At Leisure and Return Home

Your last day will be at leisure to relax at your hotel or pick up some last minute souvenirs.
