New England is truly one of the most picturesque and stunning places in the world to visit in the autumn months.  Over 7 full touring days, this holiday takes you on a journey along some of the most incredible coastal roads, through breathtaking mountains and into picturesque towns and villages.

You will explore the bustling metropolis of Boston; enjoy the kaleidoscope of stunning colours in the White Mountains, Southern New Hampshire and The Berkshires; and soak in the stunning coastal scenery of Rhode Island and Cape Cod.

Staying in centrally located, hand-picked hotels, you will be accompanied throughout your 9-night holiday by your guide who will share their local knowledge and show you the best places to eat, shop, sightsee and relax, all set against the backdrop of falling Autumn leaves and stunning colonial architecture.

Day 1 - Travel to the USA

Travel to the USA

Upon arrival, you will be met by our local representative in the arrivals area of the airport and transferred to your hotel. Your hotel is located close to the airport, and across from America’s oldest public park, The Boston Common.

With so many attractions on your doorstep, you will have the remainder of the day to explore Boston at your leisure. 

Day 2 - Boston City Tour

Fuel up on an American breakfast at your hotel, before meeting your local guide and embarking on a full day tour of Boston. Visit the architecturally significant Back Bay neighbourhood, the historic Freedom Trail and Cambridge Universities.  Then follow the ‘Battle Trail’ to Lexington, the site of the first battle of the Revolutionary War, and in Concord, visit the North Bridge and listen to the historic echo of “the shot heard round the world.” (Distance covered: 75km, includes comfort stops, sightseeing stops and free time for lunch)

Day 3 - Ogunquit & Southern New Hampshire

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and travel up the New England coast to Ogunquit, translated as ‘beautiful place by the sea’.  Take time to walk the Marginal Way, a mile-long paved foot path that winds along the rocky shore, for some of the most scenic views along the New England coast.

Southern New Hampshire

Then spend time at Perkins Cove, a tiny hamlet with lobster shacks, art galleries, and souvenir shops. Finally today, head inland to the city of Concord in southern New Hampshire, and check into your city centre hotel for a two night stay. Day 4 - White Mountains Excursion

After breakfast, meet your local guide for a full day excursion to the glorious White Mountain area. Experience the breath taking beauty of the trees displaying their kaleidoscope of autumnal colour. Don’t forget your camera to photograph the pretty foliage, locally known as ‘leaf peeping’.

Kancamagus Scenic Byway

Then, travel along the Kancamagus Scenic Byway and through Franconia Notch, a major mountain pass. Visit Flume Gorge, a natural granite gorge extending 800 feet. You’ll walk among towering granite walls, cascading waterfalls, historic covered bridges, glacial boulders and much more. (Distance covered: 299km, includes comfort stops, sightseeing stops and free time for lunch)

Day 5 – Southern New Hampshire & The Berkshires

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and continue on into Vermont’s Green Mountains, exploring its quaint villages.  Along the way, stop in Manchester for coffee and a visit to a country store, and travel through Williamstown, a quintessential New England village, home to ivy-league Williams College and the noted Summer Stock theatre festival.

Travel onwards to the Berkshires for your overnight stay in the heart of the city of Pittsfield. (Distance covered: 265km, includes comfort stops, sightseeing stops and free time for lunch)

Day 6 – The Berkshires, Plymouth & Hyannis

After breakfast and checking out of your hotel, travel to Plymouth, ‘America’s hometown’.  Enjoy free time for lunch along the waterfront, before visiting Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower II.

In the afternoon, cross over the Cape Cod Canal to Hyannis and enjoy a leisurely one-hour cruise around Hyannis Harbour and Lewis Bay to view Port Gammon Light and the Kennedy compound.  Check into your hotel in late afternoon, for your three night stay in historic Hyannis. Day 7 - Newport, Rhode Island

Ocean Drive & Millionaire's Row

Today, you will travel to Newport, Rhode Island, a legendary, nautical town filled with the opulence and grandeur of an earlier colonial period. Firstly you will tour along Ocean Drive, a national historic landmark, where you can admire sights such as Fort Adams, King Park and Gooseberry Beach and next along ‘Millionaire's Row,’ where you can see the opulent ‘summer cottages’ of the Gilded Age. Visit the Breakers Mansion, a famous Renaissance house that once belonged to the renowned Vanderbilt family.  There’ll be time for lunch and shopping along Newport’s waterfront and historic Brick marketplace.

After lunch, tour the historic centre and visit sites such as the Old Grist Mill, believed to be built by the Vikings; and St. Mary’s Church, where JFK and Jacqueline Bouvier were married. (Distance covered: 241km, includes comfort stops, sightseeing stops and free time for lunch)

Day 8 - Chatham & Provincetown

Chatham & Provincetown 

Today you will embark on a Cape Experience Tour as you travel along the Cape Cod National Seashore, with visits to the charming village of Chatham and the artistic seaside town of Provincetown. (Distance covered: 150km, includes comfort stops, sightseeing stops and free time for lunch)

Day 9 – Boston & Return Home

Check out of your hotel and travel back to Boston. En route, visit the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum which portrays the life leadership and legacy of President Kennedy.  Time permitting you might like to do some last minute souvenir shopping at Faneuil Hall Marketplace. (Distance covered: 113km, includes comfort stops, sightseeing stops and free time for lunch)

Return Home

In the afternoon you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home, with guide assistance.
