Although Monet's Garden is probably the highlight of the tour for many gardeners, some of the most renowned and beautiful gardens, both public and private are in Normandy with its long coastline.

Each day is a delight as the tour travels through the beautiful rural landscape with thatched cottages and  traditional farms. and a wonderful selection of gardens both public and private.

Based in the coastal town of Dieppe a charming port town on the English Channel, famous for its scallops! It has a lovely promenade alongside its pebbled beach, a 15th century castle and the churches of Saint-Jacques and Saint Remi.

Iain MacDonald, a qualified and experienced gardener and guide, escorts this tour and will be available at all times to help and advise you.

Experience some of Monet's most famous artwork come to life by exploring the artists home of over fourty years. Walking through his house and gardens evokes the atmosphere which reigned at the home of the Master of Impressionnism. Marvel at the spectacular floral compositions and nymphéas, his greatest sources of inspiration.
Parc Floral William Farcy
Located in the midst of an old farm nowadays the Parc du Colombier, the William Farcy floral park extends almost over 7 acres. Here for your pleasure is the ‘Maison du Parc-terrasse gourmande’, an 18th century cart-shed, which has been renovated and converted into a museum devoted to the famous early 20th century writer painter Jacques-Emile Blanche. Peaceful pathways allow you to discover 18 beautifully themed gardens. 
Jardin de Valerianes
A real pleasure for all plant lovers, Jardin de Valerianes is a garden of two parts –  one a cottage style garden of formal touches and the second a woodland garden which is a plantsperson paradise. 1996  Winner of the Prix Bonpland and 2013 pleasure garden award winner.

Trip Itinerary - Day by day

Day 1 - Travel to Paris & Monet's Garden

Morning

Travel to Paris

On arrival in Paris, transfer by private coach to the quaint small town of Giverny where there is free time for an early lunch.

Afternoon

Monet's Garden

Visit the garden of the renowned painter, Claude Monet who lived in Giverny from 1883 until his death in 1926. Here he created a garden full of perspectives, symmetries and colours; one side devoted to borders filled with colour at all times of the year, the other, a contrasting calmness with the renowned bridge and water lily pond. Travel to Dieppe for a welcome meal in the centrally located hotel.

Day 2 - Shamrock Garden & Chateau de Miromesnil

Shamrock Garden

Despite the name, the owners of Jardin Shamrock have no Irish connection but they do have the most wonderful national collection of Hydrangeas. Over 1,500 varieties are beautifully incorporated into their lovely garden. Transfer to Chateau de Miromesnil where lunch (included) will be served in the Chateau.

Chateau de Miromesnil

Sheltered behind towering beeches is the 16th century chateau, birthplace of Guy de Maupassant. Enjoy a guided tour before exploring the flower- filled potage, which is a fine example of a traditional French Garden. Evening free to experience the restaurants of Dieppe; Iain will advise and escort.

Day 3 - Parc du Bois des Moutiers

Morning

Leisure time in Dieppe

Free morning to explore the wonders of Dieppe, have a swim, explore the museum and castle or visit the market and shops.

Afternoon

Parc du Bois des Moutiers

Depart after lunch on a short coastal journey for a visit to Parc du Bois des Moutiers Parc du Bois des Moutiers, the only property in France designed by Edwin Lutyens. It is an Arts and Crafts-inspired house and garden with a unique series of rooms planted with mixed shrubs, herbaceous perennials and roses. Free evening.

Day 4 - Parc Floral William Farcy & Jardin Agapanthe

Parc Floral William Farcy

Depart your hotel for a morning visit to Parc Floral William Farcy set in the heart of the village of Offanville, a five-acre garden with 18 separate themed areas and a vast array of plants from old roses to trees to grasses. Free time for lunch.

Afternoon visit to remarkable Jardin Agapanthe – a garden of great style and originality where water, stone, topiary and planting combine to create an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. Free evening at leisure.

Day 5 - Jardin de Valerianes, Jardin d’Angelique & Jardin Plume & return home

Jardin de Valerianes & Jardin d’Angelique

This morning, following breakfast, check out of your hotel before your final day of garden visits. Three beautiful gardens today starting with a visit to Jardin de Valerianes; Nestled in the heart of the countryside, this 3-acre garden subtly combines roses and perennials and comprises a beautiful collection of trees, shrubs and hydrangeas. The garden showcases its owners' creativity: mixed borders, grass paths, brick and stone walkways and a walk around the meditative pond. Next a visit to Jardins D’Angelique, a romantic garden where the rose is queen; set around a manor house is an English style garden where pathways flow among exuberantly planted beds.

Afternoon

Le Jardin Plume & Return Home

In the afternoon, our final garden visit to the unique Le Jardin Plume, a contemporary garden with a structured geometric design softened by generous and vibrant planting of grasses and herbaceous perennials. Return to Paris for our flight to Dublin.
