Join us on this fantastic holiday to the south of Spain, where you will enjoy breathtaking scenery, great weather and some of the most beautiful villages and towns in Andalucia.

The delightful seaside town of Nerja is approximately 50km east of Malaga. It has a long history, which can be seen in the ancient paintings found in the caves for which the area is famous. But it is the charming town centre and the beaches which draw visitors year after year. Visitors enjoy relaxing on the panoramic ‘Balcon de Europa’ and exploring the atmospheric whitewashed streets of the town with their fisherman’s cottages, ceramic decorations and overflowing flowerpots.

From your base in Nerja, you can explore the Caves of Nerja, Lecrin, the ‘Valley of Joy’, and the Andalucian towns of Malaga and Frigliana. A full day excursion to the historic city of Granada, the last stronghold of the Moors in Western Europe and home to the spectacular Alhambra Palace complex, will be a sure highlight. Join us and discover this true gem of southern Spain, with its stunning coastal views, tempting tapas and friendly welcome.

Food & Drink

The people of southern Spain tend to eat late in the evening. A popular way to curb hunger pangs (or replace lunch or dinner altogether) is to nibble a few tapas (small snacks) with a drink. Most bars offer a free tapa with every drink ordered. They can be anything from a slice of bread and cheese or jamon (cured ham), to a fried quail’s egg or a plate of olives or boquerones (anchovies). This is an enjoyable way to take in local atmosphere, practice your Spanish, and discover new taste sensations! Holiday highlights

Nerja

Nerja is approximately 50km east of Malaga in Andalucia and has a long history, which can be seen in the ancient paintings found in the Caves of Nerja. These caves are now believed to be just one entrance to a linked series of underground tunnels which extend many miles into the mountains between Nerja and Granada.

Lecrín

This excursion takes you to this delightful hidden valley. El Valle de Lecrín is well off the beaten track, and you’ll feel like you have gone back in time. This peaceful area is untouched by tourism and retains its local charm.

Tapas & Aperitivos

Throughout this Andalucian adventure you will visit plenty of local bars where you can enjoy the local drinks and tapas in the typical way. The aperitivo is an important tradition in Andalusia, and most other parts of Spain too. For Andalucians it is associated more with a drink before lunch rather than dinner and is a great way to keep the energy levels up for a day of exploration.
