View Dates & Prices

With beautiful weather, friendly locals and a rich history, Cuba is the Caribbean destination that has it all. This unique island, which sometimes appears stuck in the past, offers a warm welcome to visitors and it is easy to see why many return time and again. On this 11-night break you will walk in the footsteps of Ernest Hemingway and discover the country that inspired much of his writing.

In Old Havana you will travel by vintage car through the streets and see the city centre built in the baroque and neoclassical style. There will be a trip to Hemingway’s home and the fishing village of Cojimar, setting for The Old Man and the Sea. Another excursion will bring you on the ‘Tobacco Route’ in the west of the island.

As well as the great excursions there will be plenty of free time to sightsee and relax at your own pace. Your holiday will conclude in the coastal area of Varadero where you can interact with dolphins or relax on the pristine beaches. Our superb local guides will be delighted to share their in-depth knowledge of Cuba throughout. Join us and discover the ‘Pearl of the Antilles’ for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.

The All Inclusive arrangement at Hotel Melia Las Antillas includes locally produced drinks, tea & coffee 24 hours a day.  Some imported drinks are excluded.

Coach transfer to and from Belfast (Glengall Street) to Dublin Airport on selected dates.

Holiday highlights

Havana

Crumbling, exotic and alive; Havana is a living microcosm of the country at large. From the resplendent Spanish colonial architecture of the Old Town, to the spectacular dilapidation of Havana Centro, a city of stalwart survivors and masterful musicians rocking tirelessly to the rumba beat.

La Guarida Restaurant

This is the most famous family-run restaurant on the island. It owes its reputation in equal parts to the fantastic atmosphere, excellent cuisine, and the starring role it played in several scenes in the Cuban blockbuster film Fresa y chocolate.

Fortress El Morro

Built in 1589 when Cuba was under the control of Spain, it is a picturesque fortress guarding the entrance to Havana bay. Perched on the promontory on the opposite side of the harbour from Old Havana, it can be viewed from miles around as it dominates the port entrance.

Revolution Square

Known in Cuba as ‘Plaza de la Revolución,’ it is one of the world’s largest city squares, measuring 72,000 square meters. Fidel Castro has addressed more than a million Cubans here on many important occasions.

Varadero

Located in the province of Matanzas, Varadero is one of the largest resort areas in the Caribbean. Varadero is also called Playa Azul, meaning ‘blue beach’. The setting is a 20km of unbroken powder white sand, perched on the wafer-thin Hicacos Peninsula.

Hotel Nacional de Cuba

Opened in 1930, this is a luxury hotel located on the Malecón. After years of neglect due to the decline in tourism following the Cuban Revolution in 1959, the hotel was restored during the 1990s. Its remaining splendour and history serve as a reminder of Cuba's past.

The Malecón

A seven kilometre oceanfront boardwalk in Havana Bay, it runs along one of the main downtown streets. Along the Malecón, visitors can be seen watching the surf, or taking pictures of the many famous sculptures.
