Umbria, affectionately known as the green heart of Italy, is an Italian region bordering Lazio, Le March and Tuscany steeped in history, art and culture and is just waiting to be explored.

Enjoy a full day guided excursion to Perugia, the regional capital of Umbria; from its Etruscan walls to its Medieval centre, you’ll find many historic gems throughout the city. Perugia is also known for its chocolate and jazz festivals. During a visit to Italy’s famous chocolate factory, you can sample some tasty treats, including the famous Perugina ‘Baci’.

Assisi is the birthplace of St Francis and it’s where he founded the Franciscan religious order in the 13th century. Explore the city, experience the historical surroundings and landmarks, such as the ancient Roman Temple of Minerva and Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi.

Step back in time to the charming village of Civita di Bagnoregio, founded over 2,500 years ago by the Etruscans. It’s not surprising Arezzo played a major part in the renaissance, as it was the birthplace of many artists such as: Francesco Petrarca, Giorgio Vasari and Masaccio.

You will also have plenty of time at your own leisure to go sightseeing, shopping or simply relax, take in the stunning surroundings of Umbria and experience an authentic side of Italy.
